But here I am again, and I'm charting a new course with Thistle N That.
You see, I'm a businesswoman - fence & decks by day, freelance writing by night (with snuggling kids, cooking, dishes and laundry in between). But writing fiction is my true passion. It's a seed the Lord has planted in my heart, the spark that gets my mind burning.
Quite simply, stories sing to my soul.
That's not to say that I'm dropping my business(es). It's just that by trying to include it all in my blog, keep up with my work load and advance my fiction WIP, I lost focus entirely.
Hence the dust here. (I was also distracted my undisclosed amounts of chocolate and two seasons of Downton Abbey, but let's not talk about that.)
Now for the direction.
My blog mama (who happens to be in Florida with a bunch of crazy writing girls) will (hopefully) help me build a website for Thistle Features Writing, allowing me to maintain the freelancing gig with as little maintenance as possible.
This wee blog will then begin to live up to the name... Thistle N That.
My content will hover around thoughts, reviews, news and bits about amazing stories I've encountered (seriously, now's the time to talk about Downton Abbey), as well as general stuff about two major elements in my current WIP - Scotland and history.
Stop yawning. I can see that you're yawning, despite that polite hand-in-front-of-your-face bit.
I'm passionate about Scotland, thistles and all. And when you entwine incredible stories of people, relationships and God's mighty presence with Scottish history magic is bound to happen. Trust me.
So that's it. That's my new direction.
I'm planning to take the kiddos to see Brave this weekend (that super cool new Pixar film released today), and should have a review up early next week.
And I'm also speed-date-pitching my WIP to Harlequin next week. Yikes! Will report on how that goes.
